SAORI Weaving and Peace

This past summer Terri went to the World Peace Forum with a SAORI loom and facilitated the weaving of a Peace Banner. This 30-foot long banner was woven over 3 days in various locations in Vancouver by over 100 people. It had a rainbow warp and many colours and textures of yarn for people to weave with. Most of the contributors to the banner had never woven before.

People who had done some weaving before, enjoyed trying a new approach to weaving. Everyone loved the metaphor of bringing together the threads of many colours, woven by many hands into a community expression of peace.
