Welcome to the Islands Institute Library

The Islands Institute library is the heart of this online community of interdisciplinary thinkers concerned with art and survival. Please tell your story here. Our library is a user-editable wiki, where artists, activists, environmentalists and community groups can tell each other about their work. School and university classes are invited to contribute ideas and projects. Islands Institute students build the library as they work.

The Islands Institute aims to foster informed dialogue and creative, interdisciplinary approaches to land use planning and social issues. The society draws on the work of artists, planners, scientists, activists, educators, economists, designers and others. Please come in and explore the library, then add your own artwork, ideas and images to this compilation of resources, approaches and key concepts.

Based on the Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island, the Institute aims to document, celebrate and inspire the life of this bioregion, while communicating and sharing ideas with related global efforts.
