Architectural Digest October 2006

Page history last edited by PBworks 13 years, 4 months ago

One does not normally look in Architectural Digest for articles relevant to Art and Survival, but the October 2006 issue contains at least three articles of interest. Two of these do not seem to be available on-line, so I have scanned and posted two images and will have to send you to the newsstand or library for the whole articles.

"Water's Healing Power; Ecological Regeneration at the Monument to the Victims of the 2001 Earthquake." Landscape Architecture and Planning by Rajeev Kathpalia. Text by Brian Brace Taylor. AD Oct 2006, pp. 182-191.

"The Mark of a Master; an unrealized Design in Santa Barbara expresses both Exuberance and Discipline". Architect Oscar Niemeyer and landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx. Text by Christopher Hall. AD Oct 2006, pp. 102-108.

"Prince Charles: The `Champion of Traditional Urbanism' on Restoring Balance to Our Communities." A shortened version of a speech on accepting the National Building Museum's Vincent Scully Prize in Washington DC on November 3, 2005. AD Oct 2006, pp.122-128

The full text of the speech is on the Prince's website
