Jenny Kendler

Jenny Kendler graduated with a BFA summa cum laude, from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2002, and received her MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2006.

Her body of work, in which she explores the theme of human beings' relationship with nature and the natural world, cross-pollinates the genres of drawing, digital image, sculpture, video, and narrative fiction. Kendler is interested in viewing humanity through the lens of ecology and our animal nature, and in this way addresses global warming, habitat loss, the complexity of ecosystems, endangered species, utopias and dystopias, cultural alienation, and the role of fantasy and dreams in human culture.

She currently lives and works in Chicago.
