Artist Eileen Fox lives and paints on Gabriola Island. Her abstract art expresses her spiritual world view. She has explained: "What I want to get across is how images and emotive marks influence a narrative. However, to do this I turned away from the narrative advantages of pictorial landscape and chose abstraction to fragment space." Within this fragmented space the spirituality in her art may communicate directly with other spiritualites. "For me, art is about feeling, expression, emotions and ideas that explore the universals."
